Abstract

Islamic economics is an economic system that is not merely oriented toward material profit, but also integrates spiritual and moral values derived from the Quran and Hadith. Within this framework, economic activities are viewed as a form of worship (ibadah) provided they are conducted with righteous intentions and in compliance with Sharia principles. This study aims to examine specific Hadiths pertaining to work motivation and Islamic economic objectives, particularly regarding the significance of seeking halal livelihood, maintaining a balance between worldly pursuits and the afterlife (akhirah), and fostering societal welfare (maslahah). This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach through library research, drawing data from primary Hadith texts, classical and contemporary Hadith commentaries (sharah), and relevant literature on Islamic economics. The findings demonstrate that the Prophetic traditions of Prophet Muhammad SAW provide a solid foundation for cultivating a productive, trustworthy (amanah), honest, and accountable work ethic. Furthermore, the objectives of Islamic economics extend beyond satisfying individual needs to encompassing the creation of social welfare and public interest. Consequently, the implementation of these Hadith values is capable of establishing an equitable and sustainable economic system rooted in Sharia principles.
